SBA is one of the largest independent tower owners and operators in the United States, as well as one of the nation's largest providers of professional site development services to companies in the wireless telecommunications industry.
The Company generates revenues from two primary businesses: site leasing and site development. Through its core site leasing business, SBA leases antenna space on more than 5,400 towers and other structures that the Company owns. And through its subsidiary, AAT Managed Sites, the company also offers space on over 5,500 managed properties. SBA's site development business complements this capability by offering wireless telecommunication providers a range of services to enable them to develop their own networks. The Company's services include designing networks, identifying and acquiring locations to place antennas, obtaining zoning approvals, building towers and installing antennas.
SBA has grown dramatically since it was first established in 1989, participating in the development of more than 30,000 antenna sites across the untied States. Based in Boca Raton, Florida, SBA completed an initial public offering in June of 1999. The Company is listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market (trademark) under the symbol SBAC.
